Nepal Police have arrested three Nepali nationals with US$28,900 from Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday. The arrested persons are Anita Lama, 45, of Nargajun Municipality-1, Kathmandu, Sangita Lama, 38, of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-6, Sindhupalchowk, and Binod Lama, 47, of Lishankhupakhar Rural Municipality-7, informed Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Silwal.
He said, 'Today, the passengers who were going to Guangzhou from Kathmandu on China Southern flight number CZ-6068 were found and arrested while they were trying to take US dollars abroad during body search and baggage screening at the airport's international departure hand baggage checking area.'
Police have recovered 100 pieces of US Dollar 100 denomination currency, totaling 10,000 US Dollars, from Anita, 100 pieces of US Dollar 100 denomination currency, totaling 10,000 US Dollars, from Sangeeta Lama, and 89 pieces of US Dollar 100 denomination currency, totaling 8,900 US Dollars, totaling 28,900 US Dollars, from Binod Lama. Spokesperson Silwal said that the three arrested persons have been handed over to the Revenue Investigation Department, Harihar Bhawan, Pulchowk, Lalitpur for necessary investigation and legal action.
