More than 1,000 prisoners who escaped from the Sundhara Central Jail during the Gen-G movement are still at large.
Information Officer of the Central Jail Office Baikuntha Regmi informed that around 1,200 of the prisoners who escaped during the Gen-G movement are still at large. 'As of the morning of Bhadra 24, there were 3,880 prisoners in the Central Jail, 3,517 prisoners had escaped during the Gen-G movement. Most of them have returned, currently 1,200 prisoners are still at large,' he said.
Currently, there are 3,313 prisoners in the Central Jail. Of these, 1,920 are prisoners, 1,493 are detainees. There are 1,749 in the Central Jail, 1,250 in the Bhadra Jail and 314 in the Women's Jail, said Information Officer Regmi.
There was minor damage during the Gen-G movement in the Central Jail. The prison administration has stated that it has become easier to return prisoners as all five buildings within the prison are secure.
