Police have arrested and charged eight people who pelted stones at a police team deployed on patrol in Changathali area of ​​Mahalaxmi Municipality-7, Lalitpur.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Hobindra Bogati, Chief of District Police Range Lalitpur, some people suddenly attacked a police QRT team deployed from Lubhu Police Division on Monday night by pelting stones.

‘After the police on duty were pelted with stones and used obscene language, the police had to fire one round in the air in self-defense to control the situation,’ Bogati said, ‘After that, additional police were mobilized, the people involved in the incident were taken into custody, and the necessary legal process was initiated.’

According to him, the people involved in the incident have been remanded in custody for 8 days by the District Court and are being investigated. However, in the initial investigation, they did not appear to be politically motivated.
