On the occasion of Mahashivaratri 2082, President Poudel, along with First Lady Sabita Poudel, visited and worshipped Pashupatinath this afternoon.
The main priest of the Pashupatinath temple offered him sandalwood and flower prasad. In the temple premises, President Poudel was welcomed by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anil Kumar Sinha, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pashupati Area Development Fund, ministers, secretaries of the ministry and officials of the fund, representatives of local bodies, high-ranking officials of the Guthi Sansthan and other employees. It is a tradition for the Head of State to worship Pashupatinath every year on the occasion of Mahashivaratri.
