The sacred Pashupatinath temple, which is the seat of the venerable Pashupatinath, a deity worshipped by followers of the Vedic Sanatan Hindu religion spread across the world and listed on the World Heritage List, has been cleaned in preparation for Mahashivaratri.

In the 665th week of the Bagmati Cleanup Campaign, the Suryaghat, Aryaghat, and Ram Mandir areas of the Pashupati area were cleaned in preparation for Mahashivaratri. Four metric tons of garbage were managed through the cleaning, informed cleanliness campaigner Kishore Singh Shahi. He said that the non-decomposable garbage collected from the cleaning was managed by a vehicle of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Since more garbage was seen on the banks of the Bagmati from Bhasmeshworghat to the dam, it has been agreed that the empowered Bagmati Committee will use a dozer to clean it.

Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Fund Prakash Mani Sharma, Project Chief of the Empowered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee Machakaji Maharjan and other campaigners actively participated in today's cleaning. Next week, on Saturday, the cleaning will also be done in the Pashupati area with the participation of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force.

The Bagmati Cleanup Campaign, which started on 5th Jestha 2070 BS, is continuing every Saturday. The Bagmati Cleanup Campaign did not stop even in adverse situations like earthquakes, blockades, and Corona. Even during festivals, winters, and rainy seasons, campaigners gather on the Bagmati River every Saturday morning and clean it. With the slogan of volunteering for two hours a week for the country, campaigners gather on the banks of the Bagmati River every week and clean it.
