The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection, which has been regularly monitoring the market, has fined a store located in Madhyapurthimi Municipality, Bhaktapur, Rs. 10,000.
The department has fined Ramesh Thapa Store in Thimi after it found irregularities during the monitoring conducted by the department. The store has been fined as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS.
Similarly, Ganapati G Traders has been directed to appear before the department within a day with business-related documents. The department has also issued corrective instructions to 14 more firms. The department has stated that it has been regularly monitoring the market in the presence of consumer rights activists, local administration and public representatives.
