Kathmandu Metropolitan City is preparing to plant 'Barumudha Grass' worth Rs 27 million to improve the southern courtyard of the Sainik Manch.

According to Arjun Aryal, Senior Engineer of the KMC Public Works Department, the plan has been put forward to organize open spaces for the general public. Currently, this place is used as a place for youth and children to play and senior citizens to relax and sunbathe. Public programs are held from time to time. A plan has been made to plant grass for ease of use by improving the dust and mud conditions in this place used by the general public.

According to Senior Engineer Aryal, the ground surface will be leveled and three inches of fertile soil will be placed here. Grass will be planted on top of this. Eight rainwater collection pits of six meters deep and 1.2 meters in diameter will be built in the courtyard. KMC expects this to increase the general public's easy access to open spaces, social integration, environmental improvement and urban beauty.
