A young man has been arrested for illegally operating an international incoming call bypass (VoIP).
A team of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, with the help of Nepal Telecom and Ncell, arrested Rajan Rajbanshi of Jhapa from Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu on Friday.
Police have said that he used the internet to bypass calls at a company run by Salina Rai in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-30. He was arrested with call bypassing equipment and is being investigated for an offense under the Telecommunications Act, 2053.
Police have recovered equipment including routers and adapters, computers, UPSs and other equipment from him, according to the bureau's Senior Superintendent of Police Shiva Kumar Shrestha.
