Police have arrested two people for stealing and selling gold jewelry.
A team from Police Circle Balaju arrested two people on Sunday for stealing and selling gold ornaments from a person's house in Machhapuchhre Tole, Tarakeshwor Municipality-4 and made them public.
The arrested are Ashok Chhetri, 24, a resident of Naya Bus Park, Kathmandu, from Gajuri Rural Municipality of Dhading, and Ram Krishna Bik, 36, a resident of Naya Bazaar, Kathmandu, from Naukunda Rural Municipality-1, Rasuwa.
District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, informed that during the investigation, it was revealed that Chhetri was involved in stealing gold ornaments and Bik was involved in selling them.
Police have recovered one Redmi mobile, four iPhones, one iron chisel and US dollars from the arrested Chhetri.
Similarly, one gold bracelet, one ring, one earring, one tilhari, one chain, one bag, one bangle and other ornaments have been recovered from BK. Spokesperson Bhattarai said that further investigation is underway on both the arrested persons.
