Traffic police have taken action against drivers of 40 vehicles that emitted smoke exceeding the standards.
A joint team of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and the Department of Environment has arrested drivers of vehicles that emitted smoke exceeding the standards during an inspection conducted in Thankot today.
Office spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi informed RSS that action was taken against drivers of 40 vehicles that emitted smoke exceeding the standards while checking 60 vehicles. Driving vehicles that emit smoke exceeding the standards increases air pollution, poses serious problems to human health, and also increases the risk of accidents. Therefore, the traffic police has requested all drivers to check the condition of the vehicles and drive only those vehicles that are in good condition.
