Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah has said that 208 ropanis of public land worth 23 billion rupees has been returned after he took over as mayor.

On the occasion of the 31st Foundation Day of the metropolis organized here today, Mayor Shah informed that the metropolis's target is to return 1,859 ropanis of public encroached land worth Rs 200 million. He said that heritage conservation work worth Rs 910 million has been done. He informed that ten centers have been designated as the first service centers of insurance.

Chief Shah said that 251 projects worth Rs 5.4 billion have been purchased through the bidding process. According to him, 55 kilometers of road improvement have been completed under the dust-free road program.

President Ram Chandra Poudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Dahal were present at the program. Various wards presented cultural tableaus at the program. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has been celebrating its Foundation Day on Mangsir 29 every year.
