Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta has said that the traffic police should have a positive attitude towards drivers and co-drivers.

Addressing the Road Accident Reduction Awareness Volunteering Program organized by the Valley Traffic Police Office on the occasion of International Volunteer Day 2015 today, Minister Gupta said that the attitude towards traffic and the attitude of the traffic police towards drivers and co-drivers should be positive.

He said, 'Drivers and traffic police should be positive towards each other. If you are positive, it will be easy to operate vehicles. Drivers should be positive towards the traffic police and Nepal Police.'

Similarly, he said that two-wheeler drivers should take special precautions as statistics show that there are more incidents involving two-wheelers. Minister Gupta said that Nepal is economically weak and should move forward by utilizing the available resources properly. Minister Gupta clarified that due to the weak financial situation, everything could not be done in time regarding installing traffic lights on the roads, making the roads safer, and increasing the physical infrastructure of the police.

Similarly, Chief of the Valley Police Office Ranipokhari and Additional Inspector General of Police Ishwor Karki expressed his belief that the Nepal Police, including the traffic police, will play an important role in solving problems at the community level with the cooperation of the general public. He said, 'We are the police who are deployed in the service of the common citizen. We are ready to serve every citizen.'

Chief of the Valley Traffic Police Office and Senior Superintendent of Traffic Nawaraj Adhikari said that the traffic police have always worked for the welfare of the citizens and we have always been committed to being loyal to the common citizen.
