Police have arrested Mohammad Saif, a resident of Dallu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15, on charges of illegally trading cryptocurrency.

According to Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Information Officer of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the cashier, a resident of Bara Kalaiya Municipality and resident of Dallu, Kathmandu, was arrested based on information that he was trading in fictitious currency, kipto currency.

Police said that two mobile phones of different companies used for trading were seized. Police said that the cashier was taken into custody and investigated and found to have engaged in fictitious transactions worth more than Rs 198.149 million.

Police said that the Kathmandu District Court has extended the remand for five days for the offence of not using fictitious currency.
