Gokarneshwor Municipality has been ranked as the best based on the annual review of health programs implemented in the last fiscal year by the District Public Health Office, Kathmandu.
Gokarneshwor Municipality has been declared the best in terms of health service facilities among the 11 local levels in Kathmandu district.
Gokarneshwor Municipality has been ranked as the best based on the annual review of health programs conducted by the District Public Health Office, Kathmandu in the last fiscal year.
The District Public Health Office has stated that the municipality has achieved the top position based on the evaluation of the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of health services. Mayor Deepak Risal said that the excellence achieved in the field of health services is a matter of pride for the residents of the city. He said that this excellence will encourage the residents to provide more effective, accessible and quality services.
The municipality has given high importance to quality health services as well as lifestyle changes and yoga programs for the physical and mental health of the residents, Mayor Risal informed.
There are currently 45 regular yoga centers operating in all 9 wards of Gokarneshwor Municipality, which has been declared a Yoga City. Gokarneshwor Municipality Hospital provides free health services to citizens permanently residing in the municipality, and Nepal Medical College, Nepal Orthopedic Hospital and Shankarapur Hospital have also arranged for discounts on treatment, informed Health Branch Chief Hari Prasad Upadhyay.
Based on the results prepared after an in-depth evaluation of the health programs implemented in the last fiscal year, Shankharapur Municipality came second and Tokha Municipality came third, according to the District Public Health Office.
Gokarneshwor also came first in the annual review of the fiscal year 2079/80.
