Man with Interpol red notice arrested in UAE

Police have arrested a man who was on the run after Interpol issued a red notice for a murder-related crime (duty-related murder) and brought him to Nepal today.

The arrested person is Resham Bahadur Rana of former Beulibas VDC-3, Parbat, informed Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Abinarayan Kafle.

He said, ‘He was arrested from the UAE in coordination with NCB Abu Dhabi and UAE and was brought back to Nepal today for the purpose of taking action/having him prosecuted in the related case.’

The District Court Parbat sentenced Resham Bahadur Rana to life imprisonment (20 years) in the death penalty case involving him on 15th Magh 2069 BS. The police stated that a red notice was issued against him on 19th Jestha 2081 BS at the request of the Interpol Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nepal Police Headquarters to search for and arrest him at the international level.

The Interpol Branch of the Police Headquarters stated that he was handed over to the police deployed from the District Police Office Parbat for legal action in accordance with the related offense.
