The district administration office has banned motorcycle rallies, meetings and demonstrations planned to be organized by various groups in Kathmandu on Saturday. A motorcycle rally has been organized by the youth association close to CPN-UML on Saturday, October 25th.

District Administration Office, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Paudel said in a notice issued on Friday that - "Different groups have received information to hold a motorcycle rally and assembly at various places in Kathmandu district on Saturday, 25th October, 2082. It has been decided that no permission will be given to anyone from this office to hold any such rally, demonstration, procession or assembly.'

According to sub-section 3 (a) of section 6 of the Local Administration Act 2028 and section 19 of the Police Act 2012, everyone is requested not to hold any kind of program without prior approval. It is said in the

notification, activities such as rallies, processions, sit-ins, meetings and demonstrations by various groups may increase the security challenges and cause more complications in ensuring the safety of the common citizens, so it has been decided that no one will be given permission from this office to carry out any such programs such as rallies and demonstrations. Therefore, in order to prevent any type of programs from being held without prior approval, this notice has been sent to all concerned for information in accordance with the following clause (a) of subsection 3 of section 6 of the Local Administration Act 2028 and section 19 of the Police Act 2012.
