Seven people have died in a road accident during Dasain in Kathmandu Valley. Spokesperson of the Valley Traffic Police Office, Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Subedi informed that seven people died in traffic accidents from Ghatasthapana on October 6th to Kojagrat Purnima on October 21st.
During that period, there were 153 vehicle accidents. He said that 166 people were slightly injured and seven seriously injured in the same accident.
The Traffic Police in collaboration with the Department of Transport Management conducted passenger assistance rooms at 15 locations in Kathmandu Valley targeting the festival. From this cell, during the festive season, the passengers suffered due to double ticketing, passengers were cheated due to fares, passengers' belongings were lost, there was a risk of accidents when there were more passengers in the vehicle.
