The police have arrested two absconding defendants in the gang rape case that took place 15 years ago in Tulsipur of Dang.

Chandra BM Budhamgar and Yadav Tandan Khatri, residents of Urahari Gavis-6 Veltakura of the district, who were sentenced to imprisonment in the kidnapping and gang rape case, but are absconding, have been arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau (CEEB). According to the spokesperson of the

bureau, Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka, Budhamgar was arrested on Tuesday and Khatri on Wednesday. They were found living in Tarakeshwar.

The judgment of Judge Shrikumar Regmi and Hariprasad Phuyal on June 10, 2079 in the joint bench of the Supreme Court sentenced Budhamar to 6 years and Khatri to 16 years in prison.

A teenage girl who went to stay at the New Rapti Hotel in Tulsipur's New Bus Park was taken to the nearby Patukhola beach by intoxicated youths and 9 people including them were found guilty by the court.

The verdict of the Supreme Court sentenced Krishnasagar Wali, Minketan Giri and Sachin Yogi to 2 years imprisonment, Buddhi Prakash KC and Sunil Vali 16 years and Naveen Basnet 6 years.

The court has also ordered 50,000 compensation from all of them.
