The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has asked not to download the app called 'Nepse AI'.
The CIB made this request after the incident of unauthorized transfer of lakhs of rupees from bank accounts was registered in which users are enticed to download the app through advertisements on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and after installing it, gain control over the mobile or computer.
According to CIB Spokesperson Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka, after downloading the app showing advertisements about the stock market, A complaint has been registered in the CIB that a user's 28 lakh 61 thousand rupees have been transferred to another account and the data and apps on the victim's mobile have also been deleted.
To avoid such criminal activities, CIB has asked users to use two-factor authentication, change passwords from time to time, do not install unknown links or apps, do not use apps that provide remote access, and download apps only from official stores.
