Water supply of Melamchi will be distributed to the Prime Minister's official residence Baluwatar, Naxal, Bhatbhateni East and other areas. According to Water Supply Minister Pradeep Yadav, as the necessary infrastructure for sending mine water is ready, Melamchi's drinking water will soon reach the area.
After monitoring and inspecting the 'pipeline' under the Melamchi water supply system in Baluwatar area today by the Project Implementation Directorate (PID) under the Ministry of Water Supply, he said that since the pipeline laying work was successful, Melamchi water supply will be distributed soon.
Minister Yadav said, 'The primary pipeline laid under the Melamchi water supply system in the Prime Minister's residence at Baluwatar and surrounding areas has been successfully completed. Now we will soon distribute drinking water to Melamchi.'
Currently, the pressure test of the pipeline is in the stage of preparation and completion of the pressure test and after the successful completion of the pressure test Lakshmi Upadhyay, head of the Project Implementation Directorate (PID), informed that Melamchi water supply will be started on Baluwatar, Naxal (Bhatbhateni East), Tudaldevi, Vishalnagar, Wangshidhar Marg West and Suvarna Shamsher roads.
According to him, about 3,500 households in the area are expected to benefit directly after water distribution. Amit Ranjit, project manager of Project Implementation Directorate (PID), informed that the pipeline was laid in accordance with the long-term goal of supplying pure, clean and regular drinking water to the residents of Kathmandu Valley.
