The 'Matrubhoomi Hero' award given every year by the Rotary Club has been given to Dan Bahadur Karki, Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police this year.
Karki was felicitated with a certificate and a medal by Rotary Club District Governor Vinod Koirala at its 10th anniversary function organized by Rotary of Matrubhumi Baluwatar. The club said that he was honored as a form of appreciation for playing an important role in maintaining peace and security in the society and in crime investigation while he was in the Nepal Police.
Mathrubhumi has been honoring special people who have made significant contributions to the society through charity work every year with the Hero Award. On that occasion, the club also honored the former president of the club, Bishnuhari Dahal, who was selected for the first International Chair for Lead Fellowship on behalf of Nepal in Rotary.
Rotary Club of Matrubhumi Baluwatar will be headed by young Udhami Nirmal Dhakal. Dhakal, who has been active in charity work for a decade and a half, will lead the club for the year 2025-26.
