More than 16,000 will participate for the Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality scholarship

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has allowed 16 thousand 137 students to participate in the entrance examination organized for the academic session 2082/83 in classes 11 and 12 in institutional schools under the scholarship quota.

16 thousand 137 students have been selected from a total of 17 thousand 229 applications from 77 districts across the country.

According to Lakshmi Paudel, education officer of the Metropolitan Municipality's Education Department, 1,922 applications were rejected if they did not include proof of citizenship or birth certificate, if they studied in a public school, if they studied in an institutional school, they studied on a scholarship, or if they did not have a permanent residence in Kampa.

According to the Department of Education, the selected students include 11 thousand 590 students in the Faculty of Science, 4 thousand 164 in the Faculty of Management, 32 in the Faculty of Humanities, 95 for the Faculty of Education and 256 for the Faculty of Law.  The municipality informed that the information has been sent to the selected students through email and phone.

scholarship entrance exam will be held on July 3rd from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The exam will be based on class 10 syllabus. A total of 100 multiple choice questions will be asked in which 30/30 questions will be asked from compulsory mathematics, science and English subjects and 10 questions will be asked from general knowledge. A minimum of 40 percent marks will be required to pass the exam.   Scholarship will be awarded to the students based on the merit list after the publication of

exam results. According to Kampa, this program provides an opportunity for financially weak but talented students to get quality education in the institutional schools of their choice in class 11 and 12.
