It is estimated that more than 60,000 people may have dengue infection this year. Epidemiology and Disease Control Division organized an interaction program and informed about this.
Speaking at the interaction program, the head of the division's insect department, Dr. Gokarn Dahal asked to be aware that the time of dengue spread has come, because dengue infection will spread rapidly at any time and anywhere.
According to him, there is a high risk of dengue infection increasing from July to the end of October. He said that about 1,600 dengue infections have been confirmed from 73 districts so far.
He said that the number of dengue infections is low because the patients do not show symptoms, do not test for dengue and do not give reports even if they are tested.
He also informed that the necessary action plan has been made and the implementation stage has been made in anticipation of the increase in dengue infection. Mentioning that the biggest role for dengue control is the local level, he said that there is necessary coordination and cooperation with the local levels as well.
