Lalitpur Metropolis is going to pay 40 percent premium of health insurance of metro residents. A memorandum of understanding regarding premium payment was signed between the Metropolitan Corporation and the National Insurance Board on Wednesday.

 

The signing letter was jointly signed by Metropolitan Chief Chiribabu Maharjan and Executive Director of Insurance Board Raghuraj Kafle. Similarly, the city police, cleaning workers of the metropolis, drivers and single women living in the metropolis and  One hundred percent of the premium for Toll Health Promotion (THP) will be paid by the metropolis. The metropolis started the health insurance program two years ago with the technical support of Patan Hospital. They are receiving health services from the first service center of the insurance program through Yal Health Center. Chiribabu Maharjan, head of Lalitpur Metropolis, said that by collaborating with Patan Hospital, new and innovative work has been done in the health sector of the metropolis. After covid, Patan hospital with the help of the metropolis  City chief who also installed oxygen plant  told . 

Ravi Shakya, Director of Patan Institute of Health Sciences, said that the decision to pay 40 percent of the premium of citizens included in the health insurance program was an important decision. Stating that he is the parent of Lalitpur Mahanagar Patan Hospital, he said that he has been with Patan Hospital in its ups and downs and difficulties. 

Raghuraj Kafle of the National Insurance Board said that by insuring 40 percent of the citizens included in the insurance program, it has been proven that the metropolis is sensitive to the health of its citizens. He said, 'This is an exemplary work for other 752 local levels.'
