The vote of Rato Machhindranath will be shown next Sunday. On that day, there will be a public holiday in three districts of Kathmandu Valley.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice today saying that it has been decided to make public holidays on that day in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts.

Every year, Votojatra is shown in Jawalakhel of Lalitpur . Special guests including the President will participate on the occasion. Every year, in the presence of the head of state, there is a tradition of standing on Machhindranath's chariot and showing the vote by the employees of Guthi Sansthan.

The chariot of Rato Machhindranath, the god of rain and season, was brought from Pulchok to Gavhal on Tuesday, through Tangal Eteetol, Kumaripati Manbhavan on Thursday to Jawalakhel .
