Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited, Project Implementation Directorate (PID) has started the process for Melamchi water distribution in Balaju and Nagarjun Municipalities of Kathmandu.
The Project Implementation Directorate (PID) has started the process for distribution of Melamchi water in the areas of Balaju, Bus Park, Chapakot, Changli, Lajimpat, Belkote, Shivpuri, Khokan and Kageshwari Manohara, Nagarjun Forest, Vrindavan Mahadev and other areas of Ward No. 1 and 2 under Nagarjun Municipality under Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.
Tika Bahadur Chaudhary, Head of Project Implementation Directorate, informed that the process has been started for the distribution of Melamchi water in Balaju and Nagarjun Municipalities with the aim of further improving the water supply in Kathmandu Valley and providing clean and treated water to the citizens. He said, 'After the campaign to distribute Melamchi water in the Kathmandu Valley and the instructions of the minister, we have also called for tenders for this work. Our aim is to provide clean and treated water to citizens.'
It is said that the total pipe length between the distribution network improvement work, Ring Road, Balaju will be 3 thousand eight hundred and 11 meters. According to Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited, Project Implementation Directorate, clean and treated water will be supplied to citizens from Balaju tank.
After the operation of the service, it is estimated that 270 million liters of water can be supplied to different parts of Kathmandu under the Melamchi project. According to the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited, the Ministry of Water Supply has announced that by ending the delay in water distribution, the water supply process in Kathmandu will be systematically carried forward and help to solve the water crisis in the Kathmandu Valley to some extent.
Along with this process, the citizens of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balaju and Nagarjuna Municipalities will receive Melamchi's treated water regularly in the coming days.
