Kathmandu Metropolitan City has invited applications for the Skill Fair 2082. Engineer Shailendra Jha, the coordinator of the Skill Fair Implementation Committee, informed that training will be conducted on 34 areas of 10 regions in the fair that will be held from 7th June.

Jha also informed that they are ready to provide free training in collaboration with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, private sector and donor agencies. This year, the Metropolitan Corporation aims to provide free training to 2,082 people.

The Metropolitan Municipality has also informed that priority for training is given to those who live permanently or temporarily within the Metropolitan Municipality, residents of landfill site-affected areas, people with different abilities and people who were previously doing business in the streets. Nepali citizens in the age group of eighteen to 58 years will be made to participate in the training.  Fields and categories of

training The duration of the training provided in 34 categories of ten areas of

will be 30 days. 100 hours of training will be conducted by conducting six classes daily. There will be five categories of training in the ICT sector namely digital marketing, drones, robotics, fiber optics technician, artificial intelligence (AI) and its application (AI and its application).

There will be two types of training in Special Ability Support Skills (Saw Syndrome, Autism), House Keeping (PWD) and Care Service. In Electrics, there will be four types of training namely Laptop Repair Technician, AC and Refrigerator, CCTV Repairing, Mobile Repairing.  In

garment, there will be training in two categories namely garment fabricator and basic fashion designing. In construction, there will be training in five categories namely electrician, plumbing, mason, welding and carpentry. In the hospital, there will be training in four categories namely barista, waiter, fast food and bakery.

In automobiles, electric vehicle (EV) maintenance, light vehicle equipment repair (light vehicle machine), electric and fuel-powered motorcycle and scooter repair will be conducted in three categories. In art and sculpture, there will be training in 2 categories namely thangka and ceramics (terracotta). Astrology and priests will also be trained.
