Discussing the relationship between democracy and freedom of the press, Minister Gurung emphasized that attention should be paid to how the society benefits from the freedom of the press. Minister Gurung emphasized on the establishment of rule of law and fair journalism and informed that arrangements are being made to bring online media under the scope of self-regulation in the Media Council Bill. As soon as the press is mentioned, the print media is understood more, online media too  It's the press, the problem is online," he said, presenting the example of more than 200 million frauds last month, saying that it is necessary to regulate social media.
