On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Kathmandu branch of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists has organized a morning walk here today.
Prabhatferi started from Ratnapark Shantika and reached Bhrikutimandap and turned into a meeting organized with the slogan 'Courageous Journalism, Freedom of the Press and Impact of Artificial Intelligence in the Media'. On that occasion, respect was expressed to all the journalists who contributed to the struggle for press and expression.
On the occasion, the leading journalist expressed his belief that World Press Day will inspire the state to protect press and freedom of expression and encourage journalists to do true, fair, ethical and responsible journalism.
Nirmala Sharma, president of the Nepal Journalists Federation, said that the federation has been monitoring the situation of journalists and press freedom violations across the country, and that the number of press freedom violations has increased this year compared to the previous year.
She asked the government to take action against the culprits involved in such incidents as the situation of impunity still persists, the killing of journalists has not stopped, they have to face constant threats and have to be displaced, and there are incidents of attacks on the media. In the
