The police have arrested four people on the charge of fraud of 70 lakh 15 thousand rupees by saying that they will send them to different countries under the lure of attractive salary in foreign employment.
Among those arrested are Sampurna KC of Lalitpur Mahalakshmi Municipality-5, Sujan Giri of Kavrepalanchok Panchkhaal Municipality-3 residing in Lalitpur Mahalakshmi Municipality-3, Shir Bahadur Baral of Palpa Rambha Rural Municipality-5 residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality-3 and Saraswati Devkota of Kathmandu Tarkeshwar Municipality-4.
According to the police, among those arrested, Sampurna and Sujan took 61 lakh 65 thousand rupees from the victim saying they would send them to UK, Shir Bahadur 750 thousand rupees saying they would send them to South Korea and Saraswati said they would send 1 lakh rupees to UAE.
They were arrested from various places by a team deployed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Teku based on the complaints of the victims. Police said that they have been sent to Foreign Employment Department Tahachal for necessary investigation and action.
