The security arrangements have been tightened targeting the demonstration of power of the republicans and monarchists to be held in Kathmandu on Friday.

The public meeting of the Samajwadi Front including Maoists, Unified Socialists, Mahendra Rai Yadav-led NSP and Netra Vikram Chand 'Biplav'-led CPN is held at Exhibition Marga in Kathmandu and the 'Joint People's Movement Committee for Restoration of the Raj Institution' led by former Panch Navraj Subedi is holding a meeting at Tinkune.

It has been informed that the local administration has tightened the security arrangements for the demonstration to be held at two separate locations.

Central Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya said that more than 2500 policemen have been mobilized. "We have focused on the security of the event venue, in order to ensure that the rallies do not meet each other and to prevent activities other than the demonstration", Acharya said, "The police are there to ensure that both events are peaceful."

Armed police for the security of the demonstration And intelligence from the National Investigation Department will also participate. Acharya said that both meetings will be monitored by CCTV cameras and drones.
