Provided free health care services to 155 people in a year by the metropolis

Kathmandu Metropolitan City said that it provided free health treatment to 155 people in one year. Hospitals within the metropolis have been providing free health care to the poor and destitute since February 1, 2080.

26 people have been operated on by the city. In Monday's meeting of the city's 'Free Treatment Steering Committee', the Health Department has informed that the service has been provided under the target category free treatment program. This includes emergency services, family medicine, eye/nose/ear, drug addiction, cancer, asthma, tuberculosis, chest (pulmonology), surgery (surgery), gynecology and obstetrics services, stomach services. It has been reported by the metropolis.

Although there was a legal provision to provide free treatment to the target group, it was not being implemented . In order to implement this, the Metropolitan Municipality has issued the 'Procedures for Providing Free Treatment in Hospitals, 2080'. The service has been started from February 1, 2080 through the online system by writing to all private hospitals to implement the provisions in it. To operate the

system, the medical records department and the administration department were trained by the hospital. 52 hospitals within the metropolitan city are affiliated to this system. It has 374 beds available for free treatment.
