Security arrangements have been tightened in Kathmandu Valley in view of the Holi festival. Senior Superintendent of Police Vinod Ghimire, Head of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office informed that the traffic checking operation has been intensified in all the three districts of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur since this morning.

According to him, this time not only traffic action will be taken, they will be stopped on the road for the whole day so that they will not be able to celebrate Holi. The car will be stopped.'

For that purpose, more than 120 checkpoints have been designated and the police has been mobilized. Traffic Police and Janpath Police jointly conducted a check operation. He also said that there is a joint operation in every place and the necessary equipment and teams for alcohol consumption and drug consumption have been deployed jointly.

The police have requested to play Holi only with their close and acquaintances. It has been requested to celebrate Holi in such a way that mutual brotherhood will increase by playing in this way and in a friendly and cultural manner. 

Likewise, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur administration offices have also requested to play Holi with dignity and said that legal action will be taken against those who play Holi in a disorderly manner. 

Today, Holi is celebrated in hilly districts including Kathmandu valley, while tomorrow it is customary to celebrate Holi in Terai. In some districts, Holi is celebrated on two days.
