The administration office of all the three districts (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur) of Kathmandu Valley has requested everyone to celebrate Holi with dignity and civility.
Kathmandu Assistant Chief District Officer Anil Paudel requested everyone to celebrate the festival in a peaceful manner and not riotous and flamboyant. He issued a notice on Tuesday and said, 'It is known that the Social Behavior (Reform) Act and Regulations, 2033 has organized and regulated the matter of celebrating religious, social and cultural festivals. Therefore, on this occasion of the festival, it is requested to refrain from rioting and quarreling in public places, disturbing family and social life and public dignity and peace by consuming alcohol, splashing paint and water against someone's will, throwing water fountains, forcefully mixing paint and running too excitedly, as this may lead to death in an accident.
Assistant Prazia Paudel has requested to celebrate the cultural festival in a dignified, disciplined and orderly manner so that the rights of others are not violated while using their rights. Similarly, the administration of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have issued separate notices today and requested to celebrate Holi in a peaceful and culturally civilized way.
Holi festival is being celebrated on February 29th in the hills and on March 1st in the Terai.
