Hanuman Door Palace in Basantpur, Kathmandu has three floors. Fagu (Holi) festival is believed to have started across the country after a three-story tear was made on Friday (today) on the south side of the gaddi meeting of Hanuman Dhoka Durbar in Basantpur.
At the auspicious time of 8:33 this morning, the Manandhar community announced the start of Holi festival by waving colorful flags and greeting each other.
Today, in Sundari Chowk of Pashupati, Hanumandhoka Darbar, in the Krishna Temple premises of Patan Darbar area of Lalitpur, colorful cloths are hung to signify the beginning of Holi .
Gajendra Manandhar, a member of the Manandhar community, said that the rag was torn as a victory of truth over falsehood. He said that the festival of Holi is officially considered to have started after the tearing of the cloth. Holi festival is also considered as the victory of truth over falsehood.
He said, "Holi is celebrated as a symbol of the victory of truth over falsehood." It is also connected with the story of Lord Krishna. There is also a matter of why bamboo is needed. Lord Vishnu likes bamboo the most. The importance of chir is from ancient times . It is celebrated as the victory of truth over falsehood. After this celebration, Holi formally begins . This is a tradition that the Chir Manandhar community has been following.'
The main day of this year's Holi festival is on February 29 and 1. Public holiday of Holi has been given on 29th in Himalayan and hilly districts and on 1st in Terai district.
