For the famous Biscuit Jatra of Bhaktapur, two lingos 55 cubits long have been brought to Yosingkhel in Bhaktapur municipality Bhelukhel with the help of a dozer from Sallaghari forest in Suryavinayak Municipality-10 Chittpol.

is conducted in Bhaktapur for nine days and eight nights according to Tantric method. On the last day of Chait, a 55 cubits long Yosindyo means a lingo is raised and Jatra is held throughout the day on the 1st of Baisakh in the new year. On the same day in the evening, it is customary to celebrate the Jatra in a grand manner by pulling down the lingo.

Even if one lingo is picked up in the Jatra, there is a possibility of it breaking, so it is customary to bring a spare lingo as well. If the lingo is not broken this year, the remaining lingo will be used next year. In the Jatra, Yosindyo, which is considered to be the symbol of Kashi Bhairavnath, is worshiped according to Tantric method and the symbol of Ashta Matrika is pulled up by eight ropes.

On the tip of the lingo, which is raised on the eve of the farewell of the old year and the arrival of the new year, there is a ``Halingpat'' which is considered to be the symbol of the serpent and the nagini.

According to tantric rituals in Sallaghari of Chittpol, goats and ducks are sacrificed and the lingo of Sallaghari forest is about 55 cubits long, but it is a tradition of the Malla period to bring the lingo by hand.

Khima Wali, head of Guthi Sansthan branch office, Suryavinayak, said that bids were invited to bring lingo and the Biscuit Jatra Support Committee knocked and brought two lingo. She said, 'We have started preparations for Bisket Jatra. A contract of 348,000 was placed to bring the lingo and it was delivered only yesterday, today we are monitoring it. Chariot construction work has started. This year, the work of making all the wheels of the chariots of Bhairav and Bhadrakali has started.'

Before selecting and cutting the trees in the forest, Guthi Sansthan provided two goats, a duck and the cost of offering for worship.
