Two metric tons of garbage was removed from Bagmati

The upper part of Wagmati, which was clean until a few years ago, has recently become polluted. Local residents complain that the Vagmati of Gokarneshwar Mahadev Temple, Muntir has also become very polluted recently.

As the river started to become more polluted, the Wagmati clean-up campaign has cleaned the dam site under the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple on Saturday. Campaign worker Kishore Singh Shahi gave two metric tons of garbage from the cleaning program organized on the occasion of the 615th week of the Bagmati Clean-up Campaign.

In the 615th series of the Wagmati clean-up campaign under the leadership of Gokarneshwar Municipality, Mayor Deepak Kumar Risal,  Employees including Deputy Chief Sannani Lama, Project Head of Empowered Wagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee Narayan Bhandari, Chairman of Gokarna Municipality-4 Jairam Mahat, Ward No. 8 Chairman Nandlal Shrestha, People's Representatives, Miteri Marg Preservation Society President Pasang Tamang, officials including Lions Club of Sansara President Vikas Thapa, team including Upper Wagmati Cleanliness Campaign, campaign leader Leelamani Paudyal participated in the cleaning campaign. 

It has been decided to clean the part in front of Pashupati Ram temple, from the bank of Vagmati river through Panchdeval to Bhubaneswari temple next Saturday.
