The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has said that the risk has increased in the residential area and based on the complaints of the locals, it has banned the collection and storage of waste.
By holding a press conference on Friday, the metropolitan police said that based on public complaints, the decision of the Municipal Council to keep Kawadi only in places other than residential areas and to completely remove them from residential areas has been implemented .
Rajunath Pandey, the city police chief of the metropolitan city, argued that because the businessmen who were running the Kawadi business by constructing towers against the standards did not obey even when reminded, they had to be forced. He said that while reminding the city police to stop the Kawad business, they are doing the work to make such incidents appear as incidents of assaults and attacks on the police.
He also said that the city police were injured when the police who went to remind them to stop the operation of Kawad business were attacked. He said, 'We have implemented the decision to keep and manage Kawadi only in places other than residential areas and remove it completely from residential areas.'
Pandey, the city police chief of the metropolitan city, said that the kwad business is still being operated in many places by disobeying the order of the metropolis. If he insists on removing the quadrangle, the Metropolitan Police will be forced to use dozers again.
