The students of Junkiri English Boarding School in Dakshinkali Municipality-3 Banjang were in the spirit of the sports week on Sunday. The school had races, musical cheers and speaking competitions. After the competition on Sunday, the school bus was heading towards Farping to drop off the students.
However, the driver and 1 student died and 45 people were injured when the bus crashed within a few minutes of leaving the school.
'Badminton and drum breaking competition was taking place on Monday. We were talking to a friend on the bus about which competition to participate in. Suddenly the seat cover of the bus came forward. The bus seemed to have gone down, it fell towards the river," said 11-year-old Wilson Shrestha, who is studying in the 6th grade, "I was not hurt. I got out from the back of the car. Police said the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
