According to Mahanagar-26 Secretary Kedar Rimal, the institute has submitted the real estate/property tax from the financial year 2049/50 to the year 2081/82. The revenue department of the metropolis has already written to 12 commercial organizations owned by the government, including the
institute, to file tax. The Revenue Act, 2075 and the Economic Act issued by the metropolis have been regulating the rate and collection process of property tax.
According to Deepak Adhikari, the head of the revenue department, there is an arrangement to calculate the real estate/property tax from the following period by considering the two years after the map was passed.
The chief officer said, 'After the correspondence, taxpayers have started to come in contact. This is a positive aspect. The revenue will be collected in accordance with the provisions related to the collection of arrears of tax made by the Economic Act. According to him, the revenue department or the ward office will inform the taxpayers who do not file tax according to the
act for the first time through a letter, email, or message within 35 days. It is said that if the time is insufficient and more time is requested, the chief administrative officer can extend the period by a maximum of 10 days on the recommendation of the head of the revenue department.
