Sunita Dangol, Deputy Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, said that emphasis should be placed on the construction of earthquake resistant structures.
She said this while speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 27th Earthquake Safety Day organized by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Dangol said that now is the time to assess whether the structures being built are earthquake resistant and what is the pre-preparation. She said that if there is no earthquake-resistant structure, there will be great damage in the future and it is necessary to pay special attention. He emphasized on building an earthquake resistant structure by evaluating the works he has done.
He said, 'Are the structures we are building earthquake resistant or not? How much attention are we paying to pre-preparation and we have already done important things in pre-preparation . The community should be the first responder. This is also the time to evaluate the work we are doing.'
