Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Balendra Sah has expressed his concern saying that the situation of Singha Darbar Vaidyakhana Development Committee reflects the situation of the country as a whole.
Today, in a program organized on the occasion of National Health Day and Dhanvantari Day and the 30th anniversary of Singhdarbar Vaidyakhana Development Committee, he said that it is conceivable that an organization that has the potential to make a great contribution to the country's economy should now be launched on its own.
'Now if you want to see why and how the country sunk, what is the problem, just look at Singha Durbar Vaidyakhana,' Chief Shah said, '90 percent of government industries are either leased, if they cannot be leased, they are sunk under the influence and pressure of private organizations  ;.'
Mentioning the reason for the government-run industry going into losses, he pointed out the need for collective initiative to prevent the dispensary from collapsing. "Ayurvedic treatment system is our tradition and culture, it is a subject that we have been considering as we consider Sanatan Dharma," he said.
Nagarpramukh Sah, recalling his childhood growing up in the Vaidyakhana complex, drew the attention of all concerned for the orderly operation and development of this institution . "Earlier, many places were empty in this place, drug production used to be high, now there are buildings everywhere, drug production is less," he said, "In 2058/59, the budget here was five million rupees, now it is one million rupees."
