The police have arrested a person on the charge of defrauding 18 lakh 53 thousand by sending them to Canada for foreign employment and made it public on Friday.

Kazikumar Acharya, information officer of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, informed that the arrested person is 34-year-old Ramhari Bhandari of Gorkha Arughat Rural Municipality-10 and currently residing in Kathmandu Gokarneshwar Municipality-1 Sundarijal. 

He said, 'The two victims were arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim that they were not sent abroad and had no contact after they were held captive for a long time saying that they would take them to Canada with the lure of an attractive salary.'

Information Officer Acharya said that he was arrested from Sundarijal and sent to Foreign Employment Department, Tahachal Kathmandu today for further investigation and action.
