According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, 42-year-old Vivek Mandal of Godaita-10 attempted suicide by dousing himself with petrol. According to District Police DSP Bed Prasad Gautam, most parts of Mandal's body have been burned by the fire.
Mandal is undergoing treatment at Malangwa Hospital. Police have stated that preparations are underway to airlift him to Kathmandu by helicopter for further treatment. DSP Gautam informed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
On Thursday in Kathmandu, Ganesh Nepali of Mugu attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on his own body. Ganesh died during treatment at Bir Hospital on Friday.
