According to police, three individuals on a motorcycle attempted to rob Hariprasad Sapkota of Lalbandi Municipality–7, who has been operating a mobile phone shop in Lalbandi Bazaar, while he was returning home after closing his shop at night.
'After luring the person who runs a mobile phone shop in Lalbandi Bazaar to a secluded area at night, they blocked his way and tried to rob him,' said District Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam. 'After he resisted, it appears they fired shots and fled. We are still investigating.'
Sapkota, who was heading home on his motorcycle, resisted the group of robbers, after which they fired shots from a homemade pistol and fled, he said. Police have also recovered the spent cartridge from the homemade pistol at the scene.
