The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has recommended Mahottari's Sarita Kumari Thakur for the vacant proportional representation member position in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly.
The party had earlier recalled Kanchan Bichha, who was a member of the Provincial Assembly, from her post, accusing her of violating party discipline. Bichha was relieved of her post after the court dismissed the writ petition in the matter.
After Bichha was relieved of her post, a letter was received from the Election Commission to fill the vacant proportional representation member position and Thakur, who is second in the proportional list under the same 'cluster', was recommended, said party spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha.
The RPP has stated that the vacant Provincial Assembly member position has been recommended as per the constitutional and legal process.
