Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSWP) has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Saptari-1 by a wide margin. She got 38,195 votes. Sumit Kumar of the Swabhiman Party, who came second, could not even cross 8,000 votes. Sumit got 7,847 votes while 36-year-old Chaudhary of Kanchanrup Municipality-11 was elected by a margin of 30,348 votes. Suman Raj Pyakurel of the CPN-UML got 7,652 votes, Ramdev Sah (Teli) of the Nepali Congress got 6,994 votes, and Jayakant Raut got 4,833 votes. Shyam Sundar Sardar of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal got 2,558 votes, and Rabindra Chaudhary of the Nepali Communist Party got 1,626 votes.

77,969 people voted in this constituency out of a total of 119,043 voters. Earlier, Sitaram Sah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been elected in Saptari-4 by getting 36,412 votes.
