The curfew imposed in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, has been lifted. The District Administration Office lifted the curfew order after a peace and harmony rally was held in Gaur-6 Sabgadha under the leadership of civil society.

Life in Gaur has returned to normal as soon as the curfew was lifted.

After the clash over the wedding music took a violent turn, the administration had issued a curfew order in Gaur from Saturday.  Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal informed that the curfew was lifted from Monday morning after a harmony rally was held in the area where the clash started.

The rally, which started from the main road of Sabgadha, circumambulated the Sabgadha village. To maintain peace in the village, the rally was held with representatives of political parties, locals and the administration, informed Pradya Bhusal.

The Gaur and Sabgadha areas, which had been turbulent for a few days, have now calmed down.  A curfew was imposed to control the situation after a dispute between two communities flared up on Friday over the loud playing of music at a wedding. The rally was held after both sides agreed to maintain harmony at the District Administration Office on Sunday.
