A child was injured in a gunshot wound in Malangwa, the district headquarters of Sarlahi, today. Akash Ram, the 15-year-old son of Ramvishwa Ram, a resident of Malangwa Municipality-4, was injured in the gunshot wound.

The boy was shot while playing with an abandoned pistol found at a place called 'Dhaka Border' in Malangwa-4. Saroj Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, informed that the boy was shot in the right hand in the incident.

The police said that a pistol was found wrapped in red cloth in a corner inside the under-construction Hanuman Temple in Dhaka Border and that the pistol exploded while being used, causing the boy to be injured.

The injured boy is being treated at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa and is currently out of danger, according to the police.

Last Sunday night, an unknown person shot and killed Pramod Kumar Yadav, a sub-engineer working at the Physical Infrastructure Development Office, Sarlahi. Police said that they are investigating the possibility that the weapon used in the incident may also be the same.
