Four children were injured when a suspicious object exploded in Dudhaila Khola, Rupani Rural Municipality-6, Saptari on Saturday.

The boy, who had reached there to have a forest feast, had collected a toy that looked like a rocket found in the river along with firewood. The toy, which was kept near the stove, suddenly exploded.

Sahas, the 11-year-old son of Sajan Ale Magar, Prashis, the 9-year-old son of Manoj Thapa Magar, Kabir, the 16-year-old son of Karna Bahadur Thapa Magar, and Suraj, the 13-year-old son of Padam Bahadur Bik, were injured in the explosion.

All four were treated at Madhesh Province Police Hospital Rupani and were taken to Chhinnamasta Hospital Rajbiraj for further treatment. Among the injured, Sahas and Prashis were injured in various parts of their legs and bodies, and Kabir and Suraj were injured in various parts of their bodies.

District Police Office spokesperson DSP Dambar Bahadur Puri said that further investigation is underway into the suspicious objects found on the boy and the incident. "It is understood that the children who went to the forest to eat found a toy that looked like a rocket and that it was the toy that exploded," he said, adding, "The children's health is normal."
